  • KS1 Scatterball

    Wed 16 Jun 2021

After an 18 month Covid enforced break, sporting competition between schools finally resumed on Wednesday! Ourselves, along with Park View, Chalk Ridge, Sherborne St John and Bramley all sent teams to compete in the KS1 Scatterball competition.

With Park View entering two teams due to a last minute cancellation we managed to play 5 matches against each of the other schools. All of the children played really well on a very hot afternoon - throwing, kicking and chasing balls all over the field. At the end of the tournament we were thrilled to find out that we had finished 2nd!!!!

Well done to everyone involved and fingers crossed this is the first of many events we will be able to attend.

  • Welcome Back

    Wed 09 Jun 2021

We hope everyone had a lovely week off and enjoyed some sunshine. It is lovely to see all the children back for the final half-term of summer.

During the half-term break we were informed that our children had done very well in the national virtual table tennis competition. The children had to complete a range of activities in school against the clock and then we submitted our scores to compete with other school across the country. We are really pleased to announce that Year 5 and Year 6 finished as runners up in the competition and that Year 3 and Year 4 went a step further and were crowned national winners!! Well done to everyone that took part.

Led by a group of our Year 6 children we have had a big push on recycling at school this week. Amilie, Dulcie and Gracie put together an excellent assembly all about the importance of recycling. They also made sure each class had a recycling bin placed in it and that we have a way of recycling all the crisp packets that come into school. Well done girls for all your hard work!

Finally, this Friday will be the first 'Frozen Friday' at St John's. Children will be able to purchase an ice lolly on the way out of the back gate on Friday for 50p. It certainly looks like we are going to have the right weather for it.
