St John’s governing body reconstituted on 4th December 2017 in accordance with the School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations 2012. The new constitution was approved by the Diocese of Winchester and Hampshire Local Authority.

Voluntary Aided schools – Foundation governors have to outnumber all other governors by two.
Term of Office – four years for all governors, except the ex-officio Foundation governor and Headteacher, where a term of office is not required.
Voting Rights – All governors are eligible to vote at meetings of the Full Governing Body and the Committee(s) of which they are a member. A governor is ineligible to vote on a matter related to a pecuniary interest. Associate members do not currently have voting rights.
