  • Tri-Golf

    Thu 23 May 2019

On Tuesday, we sent a team to both the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 Tri-Golf competitions. For the first year the event was held at Sandford Springs Golf Club. With the event normally being held on astro-turf the children did really well to adjust their putting and chipping to cope with the longer grass.

Both teams did really well - with the Year 3/4 team finishing 5th Overall and the Year 5/6 team finishing 2nd and only two points behind the winners. This earned this team silver medals and also a place at the Hampshire games in June, where they will compete against schools from all over the county.

Well done to all involved and for taking part in so many early morning practise sessions!

  • Year 3/4 Marwell Visit

    Fri 10 May 2019

On Thursday, Year 3 and 4 went on a trip to Marwell Zoo to look at animals that live in the rainforest. They had to find locked boxes throughout the park that contained information all about these animals. They also got great views of all the oter animals in the park.

Despite the weather, all of the children had a fantastic time and we look forward to them using their experience in their upcoming work.

  • Year 3/4 Tennis

    Fri 10 May 2019

On Tuesday, we took three teams to the Basingstoke tennis competition. All the children had worked really hard in the run up to the tournament by coming to school early to take part in extra practise. All teams did really well with Team 3 reaching the quarter finals and Team 1 went one step further and reached the semi-finals. This meant Team 1 earned themselves bronze medals.

Well done to all that took part!

  • Tag Rugby Festivals

    Fri 10 May 2019

Last Tuesday and Wednesday we took teams of Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 children to two tag rugby festivals at Overton rugby club. The children played in a number of group matches against other schools and managed to pick up some wins and draws along the way.

Well done to all the children that were involved!

  • New Outdoor Instruments

    Wed 01 May 2019

Over the Easter break our new outdoor instruments have been installed in front of the library. The money required for them was raised by the PTA through the various events over the past year.

The children have been very excited to use them and break times and lunch times are now sound tracked by the children.

Thank you to the PTA for providing this fantastic new resource.

  • KS1 Football Festival

    Wed 01 May 2019

On Friday, we took two teams of Year 1 children to the KS1 football festival at the Vyne. The children were in teams of six and played in friendly matches against other schools from the local area.

All the children had a great time and played really well. Well done to all involved!

  • Quad Kids Team Qualify for Hampshire Games

    Wed 01 May 2019

On Tuesday,  we sent two teams to the Basingstoke Quad Kids event at the Vyne School. The children had to take part in four events; Long jump, javelin throw, sprint and long distance run. There were 9 teams competing in total from 7 different schools, with the top two teams qualifying for the Hampshire School games.

All the children across both teams showed great spirit and determination and did really well. Our A team managed to finish second overall which clinched them silver medals and a place representing Basingstoke in the Hampshire games later in the summer term.
