Admissions
Children can be admitted to schools at any time in the school year. The vast majority are admitted at the beginning of year R in the 'Year R admissions round'. However, parents can also apply for an In-year admission to allow their child to join at any time into the appropriate year group.
All schools have a designated area from which children will have priority for admission. This is called the ‘catchment area’. The full list of roads in St John's catchment area can be found in our current admissions policy which can be found below.
In addition to the designated catchment area, as a Church of England Aided Primary school, we also admit children living inside the ecclesiastical parish of Basingstoke who can, or whose parent can show, they are “an active member" of a Christian church. The map of this area can be found in our admissions policy. If you wish to apply on these grounds, from outside the catchment area, please complete a supplementary information form. The current one can be found below.
Regardless of admissions, parents may however register children for admission at any school of their choice.
If you would like to visit St John's, please contact the school office on adminoffice@st-johnscofe.hants.sch.uk. and the team will organise an appropriate time for you to visit.
