  • Table Tennis - Hampshire Champions

    Fri 30 Nov 2018

A huge congratulations to the Boy's Under 11 Table Tennis team who were crowned champions of Hampshire on Sunday!!

After winning the Basingstoke event in October the boys traveled to Southampton to take on schools from across the county. They were placed in a group along with two other schools and won both of their group matches 8-0 and 6-2.

This moved them onto the final where they played against a team from the New Forest. The boy's played some excellent table tennis and won the match 7-1 and so won the tournament.

This is the second consecutive year the school has won the Hampshire U11 Table Tennis competition and the boys will now travel to London on Saturday 19th January to compete in the Zone finals against schools from across the South East. We wish them good luck in the next round!

Well done to the KS1 Skipping team who travelled to Costello School for a competition on Monday. The children had great fun representing the school and taking part.
  • Poppy Display

    Thu 08 Nov 2018
As part of learning about remembrance this week, the children had the opportunity to design and make their own poppies at home. During Thursday's Key Stage worship all of these poppies were displayed. We also discussed what the poppies represented and remembered some of our relatives who had fought during the First World War.
  • School Council Elections

    Fri 02 Nov 2018

As part of our curriculum week, voices of change, the children have been electing their new school council. Each class has elected their own member to represent them on the council and on Friday, six Year 6 children gave speeches to the whole school. Once the speeches had been delivered they then campaigned during break time for the children to vote for them. The whole school then voted in secret to elect a chair and vice-chair of the school council.

Once the votes had been counted the results were announced in assembly on Friday afternoon.

The new chair of the school council is Ewan and the vice-chair is Esther.

The elected members from each class are:

    Aruba: Michael

    Greece: Isla

    New Zealand: Chloe

    Tuvalu: Olly

    Monaco: Amelie

    Cameroon: Robert

    South Africa: Jazmine

    Bangladesh: Leah

    Maldives: Jacob

Well done to all the children that nominated themselves for roles throughout the week and had the courage to deliver speeches to so many children and adults!
