Welcome

It is a great pleasure and privilege to introduce myself as headteacher of St John’s Church of England Primary School. We are a church school with strong links with All Saints Church and a Christian ethos reflected in all we do.

I’d like to welcome you to our website which I hope will give you a real flavour of our ‘Learning, loving and laughing’ community. However nothing can be better than the real thing so I would like to encourage you to come and visit us and see our wonderful school busy working to achieve our best. We really are an active ‘community’ and you’ll see parents, governors, teachers, support staff and children all busy learning together at different times.

Children begin their learning journey in Reception aged four and leave us ready to begin their secondary education at the end of Year 6, aged eleven.

I’d like to take the opportunity to boast about our grounds that are fully utilised by the children during their break times but also to enrich their learning opportunities.

Our informative, weekly newsletters are put onto the site, which will give you a real insight into just what a busy active community we are.

I’d like to share my personal educational values with you; values that underpin every decision I make and drive me to ensure that your child will achieve the highest possible standard of education at St John’s.

Firstly, I believe that every individual child is entitled to a personalised, quality education that is tailored to meet their needs and ensures that they make good progress in all that they do, academic as well as their personal and social development.

Secondly, I want the children educated in our school to grow up to be accepting of others, make moral choices and become active members of the community; good all round 21st century citizens.

Thirdly, I believe strongly that this cannot be achieved unless learning is engaging, enjoyable, meaningful and most importantly fun!

Finally, no one person can achieve my vision, it depends upon the corporate responsibility of all involved: staff, parents, governors and children. I want to work in partnership with you.

These values are summarised in our St John’s mission: ‘Learning, Loving and Laughing Together’ which we display proudly at every opportunity and in all that we do.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time to discuss any aspect of our marvellous school. You’ll always be welcome at St John’s.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Angela Nicholls
