St John's Primary Giving Service: Spreading Love at Christmas
This week, St John's Primary hosted a heartfelt Giving Service, dedicated to helping those in need during the festive season. Families contributed donations to support the local Besom network, which assembles Christmas hampers for vulnerable members of the community.
Bob Smith, a representative from Besom, inspired the children with a talk about the journey of their donations and the importance of showing love through giving, especially at Christmas. Rev John Hudson of Basingstoke Church joined the service, leading the school in prayer.
Adding to the festive spirit, a group of Year 6 pupils brought the Christmas story to life by reading Bible verses, while the school joined together in singing their favorite Christmas hymns. The school orchestra also gave a performance of Good King Wenceslas which is about giving love even to those who are not known to us. It was a lovely event that reflected the true spirit of Christmas and the joy of giving.
