Individual Table Tennis
On Thursday, 6 boys and 6 girls travelled to Aldworth to take part in the Basingstoke individual table tennis competition. Each of the children were placed in a group alongside other children from schools around the district - with the top two from each group qualifying for the knock-out stage of the competition. Our children played really well, with the vast majority placing in the top two positions and making the knock-out rounds. In the boys competition, Jake and Rifaaz both made it through to the quarter finals of the competition, with Hayden managing to go all the way and win. For the girls, both Ava and Isabel made it to the semi finals earning bronze medals and Heidi went a step further reaching the final before going on to win the competition.
With both Hayden and Heidi being crowned Basingstoke champions they will now travel to Southampton at the start of February to compete against children from schools all over Hampshire at the county finals and we wish them well. Well done to everyone that took part for all your hard work during practise and at the competition.
