This week we participated in our first sports competitions of the school year. 

On Tuesday, the girl's football team braved some particularly horrible weather to play in the Under 11 tournament at War Memorial Park. The girl's were placed in a group alongside three other local schools. After defeat in their first match, the girl's responded well, winning their second match 1-0. This meant it all came down to the final group game to decide who would progress to the knock-out stages with the winner of our final match progressing. It was a very exciting match that in the end finished in a 0-0 draw. Because of goals scored in the other games in the group this meant the girls were eliminated on goal difference. 

On Thursday, it was the boys turn and because of another schools late withdrawal we were able to field two teams. Both teams played really well and played well as a team but unfortunately neither managed to progress from the group stages.
