On Monday a team of eight Year 6 pupils travelled to The Vyne school to play in the Basingstoke school basketball competition.
There were three other schools that also attended and so we played each school twice, with three points given for a win and two for a draw. The team put in an incredible performance, managing to win five of their six matches, drawing the other. With all the other teams managing to take points off each other it meant St John's finished in a comfortable first place with 17 points from a possible 18.
The children all received gold medals and will now go on to represent Basingstoke at the Hampshire finals at the Solent University in January.
Well done to all those children that took part!
