Welcome to Russia!
Please spend a few moments browsing out class page! This is where we will share all our exciting learning. Included will be photos, important messages and helpful websites for you to explore.
Last half term our topic was called Under Siege. We learnt about the Anglo-Saxon invasion of Britain and the changes to British culture during this period. We discovered that many places still have Anglo-Saxon names, we created Anglo-Saxon broaches in Art and explored a range of authentic artefacts from the Hampshire History service. These included weapons, toys, farming tools and a helmet!
As a bridge between this topic and our next one, we visited Butser Ancient Hill Farm. While there we took part in 4 exciting hands-on activities: making clay pots, constructing wattle fences, creating chalk carvings with runes and experiencing an archaeological dig. You can see pictures from this amazing day below...
This half term our new topic is called Do You See What I See? It focusses around our PSHE development, discussing stereotypes and considering our first impressions of others. This will include debating whether our first impressions of the Vikings as vicious thieves and invaders are correct or if they were actually driven more by thoughts of survival.
